Introducing Living Lattice: HexNest

Enclosures built to
live together

The world’s first modular hexagonal enclosure system for jumping spiders. Precision brackets hold each cell in a perfect honeycomb — with 1–1.5″ ventilation gaps between every unit.

The Living Lattice: HexNest System

A new geometry
for spider keeping

Every keeper with more than one spider knows the problem: enclosures stacked on shelves with no coherent way to display a collection beautifully. HexNest changes that entirely — a modular system where each new spider becomes a new cell in a growing honeycomb.

  • Honeycomb bracket system — precision brackets lock each hexagonal unit to its neighbours, creating a rigid, stable grid at any size
  • Forced ventilation gaps — 1–1.5″ spacing means each enclosure sits in its own microclimate with no shared air between cells
  • Arboreal-first interior — tall hexagonal profile gives your spider the vertical space they naturally prefer
  • Front-opening magnetic doors — flush when closed, smooth single-hand operation, dual mesh ventilation panels

About Fern & Fang Co.

Built by keepers,
for keepers

Fern & Fang Co. started with one question: why are there no enclosures that respect how jumping spiders actually live and how collectors actually keep them?

HexNest is the answer — a system designed from the spider’s perspective first, and the collector’s display second. The knowledgebase exists for the same reason: genuinely good information, freely available, for every keeper at every level.

“Every design decision started with one question: what does the spider need?” — Fern & Fang Co., founded 2024
🔬
Research-backed design

Every dimension and ventilation choice tested against real spider behaviour and keeper experience.

🌿
Botanical philosophy

30 care articles reflecting the same values as our enclosures: the animal’s natural needs come first.

♾️
Infinite modularity

The honeycomb geometry works at 1 cell and at 19. The only limit is wall space.
